Preface to a curators' trip to China. In April 2000, a group of European and North American based curators were invited to acquaint themselves with the burgeoning contemporary art scene of China. The fifteen-day tour began in Hong Kong, and then travelled to Hangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Taipei, ending again in Hong Kong.
