Ling-Yun Tang's essay on the sociology of the contemporary art market in China. Between 2004 and 2006, Tang interned at the Chinese Contemporary Gallery in the Factory 798 arts district (Dashanzi) and conducted interviews with about fifty individuals, including artists, gallery owners, curators, auction house representatives, and other members of the art world.
