Andy Patton
Andy Patton is a painter who lives in Toronto with his wife, artist Janice Gurney, and three cats. He represented Canada at the Fifth Biennale of Sydney (1984) and was recently part of the Transformation of Canadian Landscape Art exhibition in Xi’an and Beijing (2014–15). During the 1990s, he was a member of Pain Not Bread, a collaborative poetry-writing group formed together with Roo Borson and Kim Maltman. He later completed his Ph.D. at the University of Western Ontario, studying the calligraphy of the Northern Song and the aesthetic that sustained it.
