Bao Dong
Bao Dong is an independent curator and art critic in Beijing. He was born in Wuhu, Anhui province, in 1979. After graduation from the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute with a master’s degree in art history in 2006, he worked at the Institute of Movie and Media, Chongqing, Chongqing Normal University, Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art, and Iberia Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing. As an art critic, he has published reviews and articles in magazines and publications such as Leap, Art Monthly, Art Time, Poetry Circle, and Du Shu. His curatorial work includes Re-metaphorized Reality (Chongqing Art Museum, 2006), Lu Xun Park Project (Shanghai Duolun Museum of Modern Art, 2008), Notes of Conception: A Local Narrative of Chinese Contemporary Painting (Iberia Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing, 2008), and Re-experimentation: A Reaffirmation of Will and Enlightenment (Beijing 798 Art Festival, 2009). He was also one of the curators for the 6th Lianzhou International Photo Festival (2010).
