Chanda Laine Carey
Chanda Laine Carey is a Ph.D. candidate in Modern and Contemporary Art History, Theory, and Criticism at the University of California, San Diego. Her research and art criticism focus on transculturation and religion in a global context. Carey is a member of the Yale-Bouchet Graduate Honor Society, which honors outstanding scholarly achievement that promotes diversity. Her research has been funded by distinguished American and international organizations such as the Max and Iris Stern International Symposia, Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the European Science Foundation. She is currently completing her dissertation on Marina Abramović’s spiritually transcultural aesthetic in a global context.
