Claire Huot is currently Associate Professor of Chinese Studies at the University of Calgary, where she teaches Chinese civilization, Chinese film and literature, and translational poetics. She is co-investigator with Robert Majzels on “85,” a crosscultural, multidisciplinary, multimedia project. She is the author of two books on contemporary Chinese cultural phenomena and of The Prison Tangram, a novel featuring a Mandarin-speaking detective. Currently, her own research focuses on “dogs and China” from a cross-cultural and multidisciplinary perspective.
