Denisa Tomkova
Denisa Tomkova is a Berlin-based researcher and writer. She received her Ph.D. from the Department of Film and Visual Culture at the University of Aberdeen in the UK. Between 2015 and 2018, she was a member of the international research project Comparing WE’s. Cosmopolitanism. Emancipation. Postcoloniality, based at the University of Lisbon. She taught an Introduction to Visual Culture course and was a guest lecturer in performance art at the University of Aberdeen. Her writings have appeared in journals such as Yishu: Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art, Third Text (upcoming), Art Margins online, Camera Austria International, Profil súčasného výtvarného umenia, H-SHERA, and Magis Iteso. She was a research fellow for European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC) in Berlin, where she also curated an online group exhibition Performing the Museum in April 2020.
