1Jack Persekian
Jack Persekian is Artistic Director of the Sharjah Biennale and Founding Director of Anadiel Gallery and Al Ma’Mal Foundation for Contemporary Art, Jerusalem. Most recently, he curated Dubai Next: Face of 21st Century Culture at the Vitra Design Museum, Weil am Rhein, Germany, (ongoing) with co-curator Rem Koolhaas and Never-Part at the Palais des Beaux Arts, Brussels. Other exhibitions include The Jerusalem Show, Jerusalem (2007), Reconsidering Palestinian Art, Cuenca, Spain (2006), and DisORIENTation—Contemporary Arab Artists from the Middle East, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin (2003). Additional productions and directing include the Palestinian Cultural Evening at the World Economic Forum in the Dead Sea, Jordan (2004), the Geneva Initiative, Public Commitment Event, Switzerland (2003), and the Millennium Celebrations in Bethlehem—Bethlehem 2000 (2000). Persekian also organizes The March Meeting, an annual meeting in Sharjah for arts/cultural institutions operating in the Arab world. Mr. Persekian is a member of the 2009 British Pavilion Advisory Committee for the Venice Biennale and the Chair of the Jury Committee for the Abraaj Prize, Dubai.
