1Kwok Kian Chow
Kwok Kian Chow is an art advisor and writer who has had extensive museum management
and curatorial experience for over twenty
years. He is a regular commentator on
Asian and global art developments and was
the founding director of the Singapore Art
Museum and the National Gallery Singapore, the latter where he continues to serve as Senior Advisor. Kwok led these two museum in their development of the world’s largest collection of modern and contemporary Southeast Asian art. Kwok helped initiate the Asian Art Museum Directors’ Forum (AAMDF) and is a board member of the International Committee
of Museums and Collections of Modern Art
(CIMAM). Kwok was awarded the Public
Administration Silver Medal by Singapore
in 2003, Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des
Lettres by France in 2002, and Officier of the Order in 2009.
