1Margarida Saraiva
Margarida Saraiva is a researcher, curator, and educator working in Asia and Europe. A researcher and curator at the Macau Museum of Art, she is also the founder and artistic director of Babel, a non-profit cultural organization whose mission is to generate learning opportunities in the fields of contemporary art, architecture, and environment. Her researches focus on the relations between art, film, architecture, and urban space; comparative studies based on personal artist’s stories exploring modernisms and feminisms; and curatorial thought and practices. Saraiva has also worked with institutions such as the Serralves Contemporary Art Museum, Modern Art Centre (CAM–Gulbenkian Foundation), Berardo Collection Museum, and Tate Modern, among others. In 2017, she completed the course “Curating the Contemporary” at the Goldsmith University of the London School of Rome. She holds a Master’s Degree in European Cultural Planning and Policies from the De Montfort University (Leicester, UK), attended postgraduate courses in Museum Studies at the Faculty of Humanities (University of Porto, Portugal), and obtained the Licentiate Degree in History.
