Marianne Brouwer
Marianne Brouwer is an art historian, independent curator, and art critic living in the Netherlands. She has lectured and published widely, and recently she has researched the histories of avant-garde women artists in non-western countries. Currently she is Curator of sculpture at the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo. In 1994 she curated the exhibition Heart of Darkness for the museum, interrogating the implicitly ideological position of a typical western art museum and its collections through the work of artists living in exile. In 1997 she was the guest curator of the exhibition Another Long March: Chinese Conceptual and Installation Art in the Nineties (Fundament Foundation, Breda).
