Rebecca Catching
Rebecca Catching is an art critic and director of Shanghai’s OV Gallery. She came to Shanghai in 2001 as an exchange student at Fudan University and has been an avid China watcher and a cultural commentator since then. She worked for five years as an editor of a local entertainment magazine that focuses on theater, film, music, literature, and the arts. During this period, she also freelanced for a number of foreign art publications, including Art Asia Pacific, Flash Art, Art Review, Broadsheet, and Art Info. Catching has spoken about contemporary Chinese art in a number of conferences and is currently curating an exhibition titled Make-over, an exploration of Shanghai’s grand facelift, which is currently underway in advance of the World Expo in Shanghai.
