Ryan Holmberg
Ryan Holmberg is an independent writer and editor currently based in Mumbai, India. He earned a Ph.D. in Art History from Yale University in 2007. He specializes in modern and contemporary Japanese art, with a particular focus on comics. Much of his recent research on the subject is published semi-monthly online at The Comics Journal (www.tjc.com). He is also currently editing and translating two lines of historical manga for PictureBox Inc., New York, one focusing on icons of alternative manga, the other on Japanese mongrelizations of American pop culture; the latter is titled “Ten-Cent Manga.”
