Tansy Xiao

Tansy Xiao is a New York-based curator and art critic and founder of the Raincoat Society, a non-profit organization that features artists with fluid identities and multiple cultural backgrounds. Xiao has lived and traveled in more than fifty countries and received her art education in hundreds of museums worldwide. She painted murals in exchange for food and accommodation during her sojourns as a protest against the commodification of art. Having become acquainted artists from all walks of life, Xiao established the Raincoat Society in the hope of creating equal opportunities to the under-recognized.
