Tim Birch

Tim Birch worked as a journalist, visual arts editor, and critic with the Guardian Media Group, Manchester, from 1997 to 2006. During this period he freelanced widely with publications and Web sites in the United Kingdom and internationally. He stepped away from his writing career in 2007 to 2008 to work with the European Commission, Brussels, during which time he helped secure €13.5 million Euros for seventy-nine cultural NGOs from twenty-three nations. He returned to writing full-time in 2009 and continues to freelance in print, online, and in broadcast media.
