1Uli Sigg
Uli Sigg worked as a journalist and an editor for various Swiss periodicals after receiving his Ph.D. in Law. From 1977 to 1990 he joined the Schindler Group as Area Manager for Asia Pacific and later as Member of the Group Executive Committee and Shareholders Board. From 1995-99 the Swiss government appointed him as ambassador visiting China, North Korea, and Mongolia. Formerly a collector of Western contemporary art, Mr. Sigg has now formed the most substantial collection of contemporary Chinese art. In 1997, he established the Chinese Contemporary Art Award for Chinese artists living in China. He is a member of the International Council of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and International Advisory Council of Tate Gallery, London.
