1Vivian Y. Li
Vivian Li is Assistant Curator of Asian Art and Global Contemporary, Worcester Art Museum. She specializes in modern and contemporary art, with a focus on sculpture in the development of Chinese twentieth-century art. She received her Ph.D. in art history from the University of Michigan in 2015. With the support of a Fulbright fellowship, she conducted research in Beijing and Sichuan. Her research has also been supported by the Freer and Sackler Galleries and the Getty Research Institute. Previously, Li worked at the Dallas Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She has contributed articles to the Encyclopedia of Modern China, The Contemporary Visual Studies Reader, Art History, and the Oxford Art Journal. She is currently editing a volume on artistic exchange between postwar socialist countries and working on a book about transmedial relations in the art of twentieth-century China.
