Yang Wang is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History of Art at the Ohio State University, specializing in modern and contemporary Chinese art and visual culture. She is writing her dissertation on regional ink painting movements in the early years of the People’s Republic of China, for which she just completed a year of research in Xi’an as a Fulbright researcher.
