1Zhao Chuan
Zhao Chuan is a writer, theatre worker,
and art critic. He contributes regularly to
major newspapers and art press in mainland China and Taiwan. He is a guest lecturer at the China Art Academy. Among his recent publications are a book on contemporary Chinese art titled Shanghai Abstract Story (2006) and two novels. In 2001, he received the prestigious New Fiction Writer’s Award from Lian He Wen Xue (Unitas) in Taiwan.
His theatre pieces have been performed
in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong,
and Korea. Zhao is also the founder of the
Shanghai theatre group Grass Stage.
