1Zhu Qi
Zhu Qingsheng, part of the '85 New Wave Movement, art theorist, and artist, advocates an organic Chinese modern art movement apart from much of the heavily Western-influenced Chinese "contemporary" art. He is professor of art theory at Peking University and taught previously at Central Academy of Fine Arts. He majored in oil painting at Nanjing University (1978-1982) and holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in art history from Central Academy of Fine Arts (1982-1985) and Heidelberg University, Germany (1990-1995), respectively.
