Jonathan Goodman reviews some of the later paintings by Zao Wou-Ki, who, early in his career, moved to Paris and fused aspects of traditional Chinese ink painting with Western abstraction. He was among the first Chinese artists to explore this field and his accomplishments did not subside with old age.
