For this premiere issue of Yishu, three key questions have been posed to a number of
leading scholars and artists, all specialists in Chinese contemporary art and culture. The questions are: 1) What are your thoughts regarding the situation of art and culture
in China today? 2) What does Chinese art and culture mean to you? Or should we even be thinking in such terms? 3) Given the fact of globalization, both in terms of capital markets and culture, and the increasing importance of Chinese participants in this fact, what are your thoughts regarding the implications of this?
