Anyang Public Art Project

Volume 12, Number 3, May/June 2013
by Beck Jee-Sook

Article Description

Beck Jee-Sook talks about the the Anyang Public Art Project (APAP) which is a public art festival organized by the municipal government of Anyang in an attempt to re-imagine the way people make sense of the city. Since the first edition in 2005 alongside the newly established Anyang Art Park, contemporary art installations and programs were brought to a broad audience in Anyang through contemporary art experiments and cultural works within the urban environment. Throughout the three editions of APAP over a period of eight years, it has presented, supported and imparted the diversity of contemporary art, cultural forms and social engagement.
