1Eugene Tan
Eugene Tan is a Singapore-based critic and
curator. His previous appointments include Director of Exhibitions, Osage Gallery (Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai), Programme Director for Contemporary Art at Sotheby’s Institute of Art (Singapore), and Director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore. He holds a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Manchester. He has curated several exhibitions, including the inaugural Singapore Biennale, in 2006, and the Singapore Pavilion at the 2005 Venice Biennale. He has also written for several exhibition catalogues and publications, including art journals such as Art Asia Pacific, Art Review, Broadsheet, C-Arts, Contemporary, Flash Art, Metropolis M, and Modern Painters. He is currently a Programme Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board.
