Evelyne Jouanno

Evelyne Jouanno is an independent curator based in Paris and San Francisco. She is the founder of the Emergency Biennale and has curated and co-curated exhibitions concerning art and its relationship to geopolitics, including the Puerto Rico Biennale (2002), Floating Territories (the biennials of Istanbul, Athens, and Venice, 2007) and J’ai deux Amours (Cité Nationale d’Histoire de l’Immigration, Paris, 2011). Jouanno has taught at the University of Paris VIII and has written extensively for catalogues and journals including Third Text, Atlantica, and Flash Art. She has held positions as visiting faculty at the University of California (Berkeley), the California College of the Arts, and the San Francisco Art Institute. She has an M.A. in art history from the University Paris-Sorbonne.
