Marisol Villela Balderrama
Marisol Villela Balderrama is an Assistant Professor of Art History at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and a scholar of Transpacific Art History with a focus on artistic exchanges between East Asia and Latin America after World War II. Her current book project examines Chilean artist José Venturelli\'s murals and prints in Chile, China, Cuba, East Germany, and Switzerland. She holds a PhD and an MA in the History of Art and Architecture from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA in Art Theory from the China Academy of Art, an MA in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture from the Museo Reina Sofía, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and a BA from the Universidad de Navarra. She has taught at Northwestern State University of Louisiana, the University of Pittsburgh, Wuhan University, and the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
