Phyllis Zhong
Phyllis Hanyang Zhong is a scholar specializing in Chinese art history and transcultural studies. Her research primarily focuses on modern and contemporary Chinese art, post-World War II Sino-American communications, and feminist and gender studies. In 2023, she served as a visiting assistant professor of Chinese Art History at Colorado College in the US. Zhong holds dual doctoral degrees in East Asian Art History from Heidelberg University, Germany, and Asian and African Studies from Ca’ Foscari University, Italy. Prior to her relocation to Europe, she earned her M.A. in History of Art at University College London, and her B.A. with double majors in Communication and East Asian Studies from the University of Southern California in the US Beyond academia, Phyllis is a co-founder of Earthly Heavenly (大俗小雅), a weekly cultural and art-focused podcast with over twenty-four million plays and 100,000 followers.
